AI Engineer Intern

Work alongside senior AI engineers on real production agents - from evals and prompt engineering through model integration and the messy bits of shipping AI into live workflows.

About the role

You'll be paired with senior AI engineers on customer-shipping work - not a side project. Expect to touch evaluation pipelines, agent orchestration, retrieval systems, and the operational side of running models in production.

We bias towards interns who treat the internship as a job: own scope, ship, communicate. Strong interns convert to full-time.

What you'll do

  • Build evals and benchmark prompts/models against real customer workflows
  • Prototype agents end-to-end - retrieval, tools, planning, guardrails
  • Wire agents into customer data, internal APIs, and approval flows
  • Investigate failure modes and write up findings clearly for the team
  • Pair with senior engineers on production hardening and rollout

What we're looking for

  • Strong fundamentals in CS, ML, or a closely related field
  • Comfortable in Python; can read and modify production-shaped codebases
  • Hands-on experience with at least one frontier LLM API (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
  • Curious, fast learner, and explicit about what you don't yet know
  • Available for a 3+ month commitment, ideally with overlap for the Bengaluru team

Nice to have

  • Open-source AI projects, published research, or notable side projects
  • Experience with evals frameworks, RAG, or agent frameworks
  • Comfort with frontend or backend code so you can ship full features
