Rust Engineer

Build the high-performance services and runtimes behind production AI agents - low-latency inference paths, data pipelines, and the platform glue that everything sits on.

About the role

We're building the runtime layer that powers production AI agents inside CosX customers - from lending platforms to retail intelligence. Rust is our weapon of choice for the parts that need to be fast, correct, and survive real production load.

You'll own services end-to-end: design, ship, monitor, and tune. The work spans inference orchestration, high-throughput data pipelines, and the integration surface between agents, internal tools, and customer systems.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, and operate Rust services that sit on customer-critical paths
  • Profile, benchmark, and tune for latency, throughput, and memory under real load
  • Own observability - traces, metrics, and SLOs - for the systems you ship
  • Collaborate with AI engineers to harden inference and agent orchestration
  • Code-review across the platform and raise the bar on systems engineering

What we're looking for

  • 2-4 years writing production Rust (or strong systems experience with deep Rust comfort)
  • Solid grasp of async runtimes (Tokio), error handling, and lifetimes in real codebases
  • Comfortable with profiling tools, perf debugging, and reading flamegraphs
  • Experience operating services in production - not just shipping them
  • Clear written communication; able to scope and own a project from spec to launch

Nice to have

  • Exposure to ML inference, vector databases, or agent runtimes
  • Experience with WASM, embedded, or low-level networking
  • Open-source contributions or published technical writing
